Your First Appointment

Thank you for choosing Dermatology & Laser of Alabama to help meet your skin care needs. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as a new patient and to give you information regarding your first appointment.

As you enter the waiting room you will find a warm and inviting reception staff and vibrant photographs (& décor) for your enjoyment.

On your appointment day, we ask that you please arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete our new patient paperwork. A printable version is also available on our website under New Patient Forms if you prefer. Please be sure to bring your insurance cards, identification and a list of medications you are currently taking.

What to expect when you arrive for your appointment

We ask that you please come with a clean face, particularly if you have a particular spot to be checked or are in for cosmetic purposes.

Dr. Sawyer and her associates are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to each of our patients. Although infrequent, you may experience a wait-time on your appointment day. We offer and abundance of reading materials, Wi-Fi internet service, digital television and a variety of beverages and snacks in our reception area. If you have a time-sensitive schedule, please be sure to call ahead to check the daily scheduling flow.

Dermatology & Laser of Alabama’s No-Show & Cancellation Policy

Please understand that our appointment times are scheduled to allow us to take care of each individual’s needs during their visit. Since appointments with Dr. Sawyer and our Laser Technicans are in high demand, we value advance notice from our patients who are unable to keep their scheduled appointments.
Please call our front desk at 205-870-3303 with a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment. We will gladly work with you to reschedule the appointment. A No call no show will result in a $50 fee.  Please be assured that we strive to run our office as efficiently as possible in order to provide you the best care.

Product Purchase Policy

Sales tax is added to the price of all products sold at Dermatology & Laser of Alabama. Product returns are allowed within 10 days of purchase date. Returns will be accepted only with a valid receipt from Dermatology & Laser of Alabama.  You may also purchase products on our website.  Please click on the products tab on our home page.
Insurances Accepted

Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare  insurance is accepted. Please call 205-870-3303 and ask for our billing department.
